Bernhard Langer is a German professional golfer. He is a two-time US Masters champion (1985 and 1993) and was one of the world’s leading golfers throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In 1986, he became the sport’s first number one ranked player. He turned professional in 1972 and won 42 times on the European tour, playing in ten Ryder Cups and being captain in one. He uses a long putter and now plays with great success on the Seniors tour. In 2023 he won the US Seniors Open and overall he has been a winner in over 100 tournaments at all ages and has won tournaments in all six continents. He has an American wife and lives in Florida, but was appointed an honorary OBE in Britain for his services to golf.
